MIKROS IMAGE WILL ANIMATE FEATURE FILMS

5 June 2012

Mikros image announces the creation of its animation studio dedicated to feature films in Levallois-Perret, a few steps from its headquarters.

With several awards for animation projects: Logorama, Oscar for short film in 2010, the Visual Effect Society Award for “Outstanding animated character in a broadcast or commercial” in 2011 for Citroën C3 Dog and Canal+ The Bear in 2012, Mikros Image affirms its strategy and its development in animation.

The first project that will be hosted is the film “Asterix: The Mansions of the Gods” produced by M6 Studio, directed by Louis Clichy, adapted by Alexandre Astier.

It’s a natural move that we’ve been prepared for a long time. We were looking for an ambitious project that would allow us to make this transition.”

Julien Meesters, Head of Studio

The film is currently in development and in September 2012 the studio will welcome an additional 100 or so staff. Production will last approximately 24 months.

The idea for Mikros Image is to be in a position to produce a feature animation every 18-20 months. In this context, several projects are being studied and planned.”
