Now that the film ‘PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie’ is in theaters, we continue to spotlight our super teams at Mikros Animation in Montreal, Bangalore, and Paris, who crafted these adorable pups!

Tuan-Huy Truong held the position of Technical Director Supervisor at Mikros Animation Montreal on PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. Here is his contribution to our ‘From PAWs To Pixels’ interviews:

  • Tell us about your journey into Mikros Animation?

I arrived at Mikros in september 2022. It was my first role in a movie, I was super impressed by the huge organisation around it. The rythm is pretty intense and I arrived at the moment where we actually ramped up the production speed. Getting to be familiar with all the processes with a complete new team was a challenge that I found super interesting to achieve. And of course once this done, I had a wonderfull moment collaborating with such an amazing crew in order to succeed delivering this movie. It wasn’t smooth everyday, but we had all each other’s back and a super positive mindset to nail this to the end.

  • What was your role on PAW Patrol: the Mighty Movie?

I was the TD supervisor, basically the guy everyone bothered when something crashed 😀. I was in charge of making sure people didn’t have any technical issues in order to create images for the movie

  • What was your first reaction after learning you’d be working on the Animation for PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie?

I think I laughed realising that I might end up being super cool for my nephews by working on it, but also because I knew I was going to have fun on it.

  • Describe the movie in 3 words

PowerRangers with puppies

  • What have you learned since working on PAW 2?

No issues too big, no tickets too small! More seriously I’ve learned that with motivation and dedication, nothing is impossible. With common effort, we can achieve anything!

  • Tell us a production memory!

It’s not a production memory but I remember so well my interview with Julie, our line producer. I was in hollydays in Montreal and at that moment, Romain Grillon set me up an interview disguised as a visit of the studio. At that time I wanted to work on grown up things 😊, but when Julie pitched me the show, I was like “Wow pups with power rangers suits, it is in fact so cool, I can definitely work here.” And the energy and talks went so smooth that I actually thought about joining, and here we are 😀.
