It is with much excitement that today, home of Mikros Animation, Technicolor Creative Studios, has become an independent, publicly traded company.
Founded in 1915, Technicolor led the film industry with the world’s first exploration of full color and sound Motion pictures, developing a series of innovative color film processes in the early 20th century. The creative technology brand later acquired MPC, The Mill and Mikros Animation in addition to establishing Technicolor Games together, we now operate collaboratively under our new brand name, Technicolor Creative Studios.
Each of our four studios will be powered by shared technologies, creative talent, R&D, and investment in future platforms. As a growing collective, we have the power to provide our film and episodic clients with creatively driven solutions across their IP journey, from feature length film animation to in-game assets and marketing content.
Technicolor Creative Studios has a rich legacy for innovation and storytelling in the entertainment and advertising industries. Equally, at Mikros Animation, we have developed some of the world’s most recognizable animation IP including SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In less than ten years, Mikros Animation has contributed to ten released feature animations and to numerous high-quality episodic shows (streaming in over 180 countries).
As a proud part of Technicolor Creative Studios, Mikros Animation stands alongside the most cutting-edge animation studios in the world. Thanks to our expanding global capabilities, we have adapted our scale to always serve every project in the best possible way and continue to help filmmakers define and develop their vision from script to screen, making every project truly unique.
“There is no doubt that the Animation industry is growing at a considerable rate fueled by the boom in demand for content across new streaming platforms. Technicolor Creative Studios spin-off will be pivotal in further enabling Mikros Animation to scale and continue to produce the best work for the world’s most iconic Animation brands. We’ve seen fantastic benefits of being part of a wider studio network, enabling us to tap into considerable talent, investment, technology, and innovation.”Andrea Miloro, President of Mikros Animation
